Rode SC6-L Ultracompact 2×2 Lightning Audio Interface for iOS Devices
Swiftly record two-person interviews, podcasts, and vlogs straight to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with the RODE SC6-L ultracompact 2×2 Lightning audio interface and a pair of TRRS-equipped microphones (mics available separately). Pocket-friendly and bus-powered, the SC6-L is perfect for keeping your setup small and simple while maintaining quality and enjoying app-based optimization.
At one end of the SC6-L, you’ll find two 3.5mm TRRS jacks to accept signal from microphones such as the Rode smartLav lapel mic, Rode VideoMics (in conjunction with TRRS adapters), and third-party microphones with the appropriate TRRS outputs. Between the two TRRS jacks is a 3.5mm headphone output for monitoring the incoming signal to make sure it is clean and free of distortion.
At the other end of the interface, a short cable is terminated with a Lightning connector, which connects directly to your iOS mobile device to facilitate convenient and clear recording at digital resolutions up to 24-bit / 48 kHz, making it a broadcast-quality unit.
Use the SC6-L with the Rode Reporter app to change preamp gain, switch between summed stereo or dual-mono record modes, and turn direct monitoring on or off, all from your Apple mobile device (iOS 11 or later required). Alternatively, you can use the SC6-L with other audio/video apps such as the onboard Camera app, GarageBand, Voice Memos, and more.
